So, what is everyone's religious view here on the Zone? Don't argue, just state where you stand if you feel like it!
Born again christian
i don't believe in god or anything like that, although i do strongly believe in life after death
I believe in god, and that we all are sinners, and need direction, so I am a Christian. I do not have a religion though. I also believe that none of us are perfect, hence our need for God, and his love. That is why I don't preach and such.
Atheist
I'm a Hellenic Polytheist. That is, I worship The Gods and Goddesses of ancient Greece. I'm not as reconstructionist as I like but I'm very devout in my own way. *smile*
Don't know, don't care.
I don't know what to call myself.
I guess I believe in life after death as a more spirit and energy thing, mainly only because I can't stand to think that once we die, we're done.
I don't know if I believe in God exactly, but there is some greater force driving the world, since I'm from the south, I guess I'll just call it God. I think it's silly to follow the Bible to the letter since it's translations of translations.
Don't know if it's athism or what. lol.
my thaughts exactly, kala
Agnostic, because the universe is so full of mysteries to be truly sure of anything. I can freely answer "I don't know" to all the big philosophical questions and mean it.
Non-Denominational Christian. I, like others here, believe that we are not perfect and not expected to be. The way I believe you get to Heaven is that you believe that God's only son died for your sins to be forgiven and that you must truly want a friendship with Christ. It is possible to have a friendship with Christ and still be loving, accepting, non-judgmental and forgiving of others' faults. If you are doing that, I'd say you are a Christian. There is no right or wrong Denomination, which is why I attend a Non-Denominational church.
I'm a devout christian. I strongly believe that god forgives all of us for all of our sins, known or unknown. He loves all of us. He is awesome, wonderful, and mighty, and will provide for his people. i believe that jesus christ died for our sins, and their's no other that will do that for the sin of all mankind.
Christian
atheist.
Was raised Lutheran, but have strong leanings toward Catholicism and EAstern Orthodox. I'm particularly interested in Eastern Christianity.
I'm a freedomist. I believe that people who don't harm others, or damage or steel property should be as free as I am.
wiccan, and proud of it!
Me too!
and, the reason was, I just couldn't stand all those people trying to pound christianity in to my head. That's something you don't do
I am a born again Christian as well. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and through him we are saved.
Blessings,
Angela
I am a devout Christian as well, but respect people of all faiths. I believe that we are all imperfect, but that through Jesus' grace and friendship, we are forgiven. I believe that no one is greater than another, and no one has the right to judge someone for something they have done because before you know it, you'll be doing the same thing, or something similar. The judgment and greatness is all up to God. I don't believe in being preachy, unless you're a minister and that's your job, lol, but yeah...that crosses into sounding arrogant and judgment if it's not done right. Every day I just hope I can represent my love in Christ through the way I treat His people...and I feel like Christ should be presented through humility, like, look what this guy did for us! look who set me free, he's amazing! because I have no right to sit here and point my finger at someone, like I said earlier. I have very strong feelings about this if you haven't noticed, lol, and I get frustrated with how Christianity is presented a lot of the time.
Agnostic, leaning toward believing in science as a religion. I guess you'd say I'm a rationalist. But deep down I hope there is a all-knowing God who cares about me.
Confused?
I'll let you know when I get there.

Well said, Brooke!
That, my dear friends, is probably the very best Christian testimony I've read out here.
I'm a christian as well. Although I was raised Baptist, I am accepting of other denominations. To me, it doesn't matter what branch of christianity you fall under, as long as we believe in God and that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Thhere are different approaches to believing in him, that's all, in my opinion.
With God's great love,

I just saw this thread. I am a Christian, and not ashamed of it, but I dont' believe in pounding it into other people's heads. I'll talk about issues of faith if someone wants, but I have friends of all different faiths.
i'm christian faith, but don't share or such, unless people started to share with me. perhaps thats the reason why i'll never ever be a minister? *grin*
I was raised a non-denominational Christian, started following Messianic Judaism when I was 12, and then became Muslim at 17 and still am a Muslim. I have friends that are Muslim and I also have friends that are non-Muslim and try not to shove anything down anyone's throat unless of course they ask me about it, and then I will answer their questions or tell them about my religion.
I'm a nondenominational christian, and I'm proud to be a christian. I'm not gonna start spewing what others have said out here on this topic about christ, and how he died for us and liberated us but I will say this. every morning I wake up and pray to start a new day, I talk to my friend and savier. I pray to the one true being that I know in my heart is always there for me. Every night when I go to sleep, he's still there, and never leaves my side. I not only view god as the father, son and holy ghost, but also as a friend, a redeemer, and a loving hand to guide the way.
That's amazing preaching! I think I'll use your wording.
I was raised Catholic, and still attend church on occasion, but I think at this point in my life I'm more of an agnostic than anything else.
Pagan, and if I'm counting right that makes the sixth to post it here. :)
raised baptist, but am now an atheist. So, I keep a lot of christian beliefs like I strongly hate muslims.
wait, wait, wait... I didn't know that christians hate muzlom's I thought that hole not judging thing should in theary stop that kind of thing or the love all type thing. Oh, wait, why am I writing this, the littleopinionated idiot has me on ignore because she couldn't accept facts.
I don't think there is a name for what I believe, but my beliefs are summarised below.
I believe in God, but I don't define God as most people do. I believe God is the good and right we can do, and the kindness and care we can show each other.
I don't know or care how the world began, or what happens after we die. But I believe that we can create Heaven on Earth by being God as defined in the previous paragraph of this post.
I believe that religious texts have been written in a way which makes them difficult for people to understand, that's why there are so many interpretations of books like the Bible and the Koran. Preachers select passages from religious texts and use them to argue a point. I would even go as far as to say that people don't follow religions. They follow specific interpretations of religions. These may be their own interpretations, or the interpretations of others.
I don't fully reject religious texts. In religious texts, and in other texts, people may find passages that encourage people to do good and right, and be kind and caring.
I believe that as God is in us, he can communicate with us where ever we are, if we let him. To make room for God in our minds, we need to empty them of all thoughts so we can be focused on God's good guidance. We should do this regularly, but not so frequently that we don't give ourselves enough time to act as God would want us to.
I am learning about paganism and wicca actually signed up at witchschool.com interesting stuff there. taking the first degree course they have never hurts i may not actually go to paganism then again i might. I want to learn all i can though. When the hospital asks now i say pagan even though i am in that learning phase it just feels right. I dont know how to explain it. However, from how i understood the bible you should not hate others of a different faith that just exposes you to trouble oh and karma people almost every religion i have found has its own relation with karma the golden rule for example. But hating someone because of there faith is just stupid imo. Think of what ya say because it could affect ya later.
I believe that if you believe in something, you don't shouldn't need to learn about it. Surely you must have formed an understanding of something before deciding whether or not to believe in it.
When people say they're studying something because they've started to believe in something but they don't know much about it, I think they're believing something to join a club/attach themselves to something, instead of because of conclusions they have reached about life, the world and the supernatural. They don't seem genuine to me.
I was once agnostic. Saw too much to believe there is nothing within our world that was spiritual. After years of not really searching I am now Christian (LDS, to put a label on it). I believe We are all imperfect beings. Our time on earth is a time of probation in which to learn, gain experience and perfect ourselves to the best of our abilities. CHrist's atonement in the Garden of Gethsemane caused the burdin of sin to be lifted from us, and his sacrifice on the cross allowed all of us to overcome death. Faith in Christ is the way back to God, but faith without works is just paying lip service to his memory. I believe in the return of God's Prophet to the wirld after many centuries in which there were no Prophets, and I believe that humanity is free to worship how and when they wish. I do not believe in speaking my religion to those who would attempt to shame me or argue for the sake of arguement, as they will never listen. I do believe in speaking the Gospel to anyone who is willing to listen, because there is none perfect, no, not one. You need only look around to see that even one who appears perfect has at least some darkness within them. We all must find our way back to God to be happy in the long run, though it is certainly easier to live for ourselves to achieve gratification in the now. That, in a nut shell is the religion I chose for myself. I believe it to be correct based on personal experience and the testamony of others. But I am by no means perfect, or even close to it.

I echo Krisme's sentiments 100 percent, except that I was raised in the United Church. I still do attend on occasion, and I really enjoyed their Christmas Eve service. But I am more of an agnostic than anything else.
Even though I am a Christian, I refuse to judgeothers or shove my thoughts and beliefs down someone's throat. I feel that the best way to share my beliefs with someone who I think might be interested is to tell my story and move on with my day. If you believe, youbelieve but if you don't, youdon't. God gave me a choice to believe or not, so I feel that I should treat others the same way. I have my faults; I'm sometimes too blunt, I curse when I shouldn't, I hate stupidity and outright ignorance and hatefulness and that can sometimes get in the way. The importantthing for me is that I try to be an example of His love. I'm far far far from perfect, but I'm slowly improving and letting God mold me andshape me the way He wants me.
I was raised seventh day adventist, but don't belong to any religion. I just think everyone should live life on their own terms instead of following something someone else made up which is where religion began, in my opinion.
I agree with sunshine and rain. While I do believe firmly in christ,I by no means will force it down anyone's throat unless someone specifically feels they have something to gain from talking to me about it. all I can do is tell my story, say why I believe and relate it to that story and hope the person who had an initial interest took my words and found some meaning in them.
When did you stop being an Adventist Chippie and why?
I'm a born again christian. I believe in god as father, son and holy spirit. But I don't believe in things like mary as the holy queen or something like that.
I am a christian and I love it!
My grandma is a catholic and forced me to go to church. I hated it. Six years, from when I was 12 till 18, I would laugh in your face if you told me you're a christian.
Now I found god for myself. I respect other religions and I never force christianity on anyone, however I express my values and opinion when asked.
this is such an amazing and fascinating threat. I'm really overwhelmed and impressed by the breadth and depth of the beliefs I have seen.
I attend the southern baptist church and consider myself a born again christian with all that entails and has been expressed beautifully by others. However, if I feel that God has stopped residing in my particular congregation's building I will go else where.
Back in 1992 I was baptized and saved in the Church of Christ which is even more conservative then southern baptists. Some things they believe are that No musical instruments are played in church etc. etc.
I believe that we need to treat every experience with the wonder and excitement of the first day of life. Each person needs to be related too like they are living in our last day.
Everything in my life is turned over to God. When he is in the driver's seat I don't get off track and/or drive round in pointless circles.
Oh yes, the Jesus I believe in told me to love everybody. OI didn't know that moslems got a special dispensation from this. We must respect, support, and encourage those around us. Hate killslove wins out eventually.
